A Wonderful collection of 25 18th century
hold to light Vues d'optique with intricate cut out and added tinsels, these
views are to use in a peepshow box like the one with have on page 1 of this
catalogue. Here are some of the best such prints we have ever offered for
sale and the collection starts with a view of Sevilla with the peepshow man on
the foreground arriving for his show.
The print are expertly cut out and
backed with various coloured paper and pieces of material, they are all
mounted on thick card and some area are actually thinner than others so as to
let more light through, a great effect. A number of plates are decorated with
shiny tinsel on the front and even silver material for the water so as to reflect the light from the front, a most
unusual effect that we have never seen before!
