Pāturage de brebis or Sheep pasture, a superb large German toy dating from the
3rd quarter of the 19th century in its original box.
The trees are made of painted wood, the animals are a wood and composition, the figures are papier mache and composition.
Overall in good condition, bright colours, note some gluing to a number
of pieces, some trees are missing leaves but there is an envelope full of wooden leaves to reglue
in place.
A truly exceptional toy, the box bears a label "#2094/12 Pāturage de brebis".
The box is 44
cm x 29.5 cm x 9.5 cm or 17 1/4" x 11 1/2" x 3 3/4", the animals are between
5 cm and 8 cm tall or between 2" and 3 1/8", the figures are around 14 cm or 5 1/2" tall.
